Honors Biology
Description - This course is designed for college preparatory students who plan on a
science career. It includes a weekly double lab period which allows for
extensive laboratory investigation. The material covered includes an
overview of living things, life processes, and interrelationships. Students
are expected to gain competence in the use of scientific methods and
instruments. Topics include the scientific method, cell biology, genetics,
theories of change through time, taxonomy, and ecology. Instruction and
assessment is varied and includes reports, research, laboratory write-ups,
photojournals, projects, and blogs.

Course Standard – (Required grade must be obtained to pass the class.):
Science Fair Projects including a poster board and log must earn a 75% or better or must be redone until the required grade is earned.
