Global Biology
Description - This course is designed to be the second year biology course for the career
track students. The emphasis is on ecology, environmental science, and field
biology. Instruction and assessment techniques are very diverse, with many
projects, demonstrations, labs, activities, and ecological studies more-so than
quizes and tests. Topics of study include, the scientific method,
ecosystems, diversity, water quality, air quality, land use, energy use, and
waste treatment/recycling. The class utilizes the school grounds often to
extend the ecological studies into the outdoors.

* Textbooks will be kept in the classroom and will be issued
to students for specific assignments.
Course Requirements - "Ecology Terms Quiz" & "Endangered
Species Projects" are PA state standards. Students must
obtain an 80% or higher on these projects or must retake
until that score is obtained to pass the course!
